Last week, we heard about Jerrica’s journey into the hospitality and wedding industry. Today, we’re learning more about Lily’s background, eye for detail, and passion for weddings and events.

A Love for the Little Details

I’ve always loved the little details. As a kid, it was my job to set the table for family dinners, and I took that responsibility very seriously. I’d light candles, make handmade place cards, pick flowers from our garden, and find small ways to make an ordinary meal feel special.

Naturally, weddings became my favorite events to attend. As a child, wedding season felt like my version of the Super Bowl. By the time I was 21, I had attended more than 40 weddings, and yes, I actually kept a running list on my phone. People often say guests won’t remember the details of your wedding day, and for most people that’s true. For me, though, the details were always what stood out.

Discovering a Passion for Weddings

My passion for weddings truly took shape when I was 14 years old and helped my sister plan her wedding. As her maid of honor, I got a firsthand look at the creativity, planning, and thoughtful details that go into creating such a meaningful day. I was hooked.

Finding the Right Career Path

I went on to study Marketing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha because I loved creativity and design. While I enjoyed the field, I realized I was missing the hands-on experience of bringing ideas to life. During college, I found myself planning elaborate birthday parties and special events for friends and family whenever I had the chance.

Eventually, I knew I wanted a career in the wedding and events industry. At the time, I was working at a campus coffee shop managed by the same team that oversaw Scott Conference Center. When they asked about my plans after graduation, I shared my dream of working in weddings and events. They introduced me to an opportunity at Scott Conference Center, and the rest is history.

Bringing Wedding Visions to Life

I’ve been here ever since, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a career that combines so many things I’ve always loved: creativity, organization, beautiful details, and most importantly, helping couples bring their wedding vision to life.
